This Web site features my own boat i am still building , i ve added some pics of the frame and the engine..

My first gasboat.

since i live in a small town very close to a big lake and small rivers , i deside to made a rc . controlled race boat ..i started witch searching the net and finaly ended by jim,s rc gasboat page..
this page was so good and filled with info that it was a good target to try to build a gasboat..
so i asked a friend, who is a gardener , if he would open his eyes and look for an old trimmer engine , some time past , but after 6 months he called me and told me , he found one..
its a 50 cc. robin engine , without clutch, air cooled .with a pull start . now the building begins..i drawed several plans for a hull and found that the mounting of the engine was the biggest problem ..

when the frame was sawed and roughly sanded, i had to find out how to mount the engine.
well i placed a mount system , i created myself, between the rails and the engine is now standing between the ribs, on the rals . in a 70-30 % from the lenght of the boat . the biggest question was if u should use a submerged ore a surface drive ..
i deside that it would be a surface drive , the sp3 series of warehousehobbies .

future

now i have to wait for the drive system , it should arive soon , than i have to calculate the place and and the way of bringing the power of the engine to the drive system .. i want to finish the hull with thin plywood and finish it with some fiberglass ..
i think i have to use some foam to make sure that the boat would not sink ..

the frame is made out of 9mm plywood and a lot of glue... still have to sand the hole frame ..
